Greenery Wreath with Burlap Chevron Bow

So, I hate to say it but this freak winter weather has killed all of my outdoor plants. Well...they look dead at least. (Yes, I'm blaming it on the weather!) Nevertheless, I needed some greenery in my life. I LOVE the boxwood wreaths I've seen around, but decided to make my own instead. Hobby Lobby, here I come! This wreath was SO easy to make and came out simply adorable!
The first step is to gather your supplies. I used a round wood base, fake stands of greenery, and a white & burlap ribbon for the bow. Of course, music on in the background is definitely a must!
Attach your greenery to the wreath base (I used metal wire) and lastly, assemble your bow. For my bow, I made 2 different size loops and connected them together with the wire. Finally, I cut a new piece of ribbon to use for the tails. I attached the tails to the bow loops, and trimmed the ends in a "v" shape to finish them off.
Ta-Da! A beautiful wreath that's perfect for everyday!

Desk Organizer Makeover

I picked up an adorable wooden box at a yard sale over the summer. I haven't known what to do with it for the longest time, but I decided to make it a desk organizer and give it that undeniably cute, shabby chic look!
I wanted to give it a two-tone look so I started by painting the interior of the box a soft, light blue color.
Afterwards, I painted the outside solid white, and gave it 2 coats of paint.
Once it was dry, I sanded down the edges and sides to give it a distressed look. You can sand lightly to get a slight distressing, or sand roughly to give it major distressing.
I'm so pleased with how it turned out! Such an fun and easy DIY.
